It’s going to be a hot one this week and there will be plenty of events to enjoy a cold one outside. CrossroadsKC Beer Fest is this weekend with 30 craft breweries and over 80 beers. Beer tastings are from 4 to 9 p.m and music from 5 to 11 p.m. featuring PetRock, a band from Omaha, Nebraska.

Enjoy an all plant-based BBQ on Torn Label’s patio catered by Southern Fried Vegan with menu items including Fried Chickun, Jambalaya, Mac N Cheeze, Cajun Corn and more. Torn Label also has some new beer releases you’ll have to try!

Tap Notes

Brewery Emperial uses fresh ginger, lemon juice, and pure cane sugar to create their Ginger Shandy (3.6%). It’s a summer delight.

Casual Animal Brewing Company is serving Gazoontight (5.5%), a blonde sour ale immersed with guava and mango.

When life gives Cinderblock Brewery lemons, they make Salted Lemonade, a kettle sour with pink Himalayan sea salt and lemon.

BKS Artisan Ales has Amusement Sour IPA, the next in their rotating lineup of sour IPAS. Hibiscus, rose petal, lemon, and lychee fruit are present in this dry hopped beer.

Double Shift Brewing Company has a few new beers out right now, one of them being Desert Sounds (6.1%), a dry-hopped sour with prickly pear and vanilla, which gives it a sweet and creamy aftertaste.

Patrons can taste the newest beer called Desert Sounds from Double Shift Brewing Company. (Emily Woodring | Flatland)
